Mixer Partners with Make.TV for Microsoft Store Tournaments

  • Microsoft will use Make.TV’s Live Video Cloud service for broadcasts of Mixer Matchups competitions at its retail stores.
  • Live Video Cloud lets producers pull in livestreaming content from anywhere and put it all into a single broadcast.
  • ESL and DreamHack both use Make.TV’s services and ESL recently renewed and expanded its deal with the company.

Microsoft’s Database-Link-e1521645463907 Mixer livestreaming service has enlisted Make.TV’s Database-Link-e1521645463907 cloud-powered video tech to enhance its online broadcasts of esport tournaments.

Mixer hosts weekly Mixer Matchups tournaments at Microsoft Store locations and broadcasts them via its streaming platform. Now, Make.TV’s Live Video Cloud will be used to bring multiple stream feeds—across numerous stores—into a single broadcast.

“We’re excited to be working with Mixer to help bring new gaming experiences to players and fans alike,” said Andreas Jacobi, co-founder and CEO of Make.TV, in a release. “Microsoft’s production team can capture content from multiple locations, curating and distributing it to fans in a groundbreaking show. Bringing people together from multiple locations to enjoy shared experiences is fundamental to the future of esports broadcasting, and this can now be achieved on an unprecedented scale.”

It supports an unlimited number of live video sources, such as connected cameras, mobile phones, and drones, allowing content producers to pick and choose which feeds to plug into the live broadcast.

Earlier this month, ESL renewed its deal with Make.TV and expanded it to include this month’s ESL One Mumbai Dota 2 Database-Link-e1521645463907 event. The companies have been working together since 2015.
